The Power Of One Word

I posted a video a while ago on my YouTube Channel and I would like to share the same story with you now...

It was exactly one year ago I completed my workshop Communication With Clarity & impact and there was one slide on my Power point that the attendees were completely fascinated with..

It was the slide on "BUT'...

Now it's not the butt with a double tt that sits on the top of your legs, OK!...

It's the other BUT...

Actually I was just speaking with a client on Friday who used the word a number of times during our call...

The word BUT is a very dangerous word to use in the wrong context and most of us use it unconsciously in our conversation which creates a very negative impact...

When we use the word BUT, EVERYTHING before it is negated or becomes invalid...

For example...

I think you did a great job BUT it wasn't delivered on time and still needs to be completed...

This word BUT can creates conflict, anamosity, fighting, upset and can have the person distance themselves from the conversation mentally...

When we hear the word BUT we put up a wall, we stop listening, stop communicating and start thinking of an answer to respond to the words after the BUT...
