My Coach Gave Me Some Feedback And It Hurt

Feedback is a great thing when it is positive, makes us feel good and let's us know we are on the right track...

Everyone loves positive feedback as it speaks to our ego and makes us feel good...

I think it's necessary that we receive positive feedback...

What about constructive feedback, feedback that's says, you can do better than your doing now, you can step up....

This type of feedback will alienate our ego and put us in a defensive mode...

No one wants to hear that they need to change and do things differently...

We all like to think we are doing a great job and we don't need to change...

My coach gave me some feedback a few days ago and it hurt....

I didn't want to hear it, it was painful, my ego was pissed off, upset...

I know it's good for me yet it is still painful to hear it...

That's why I love my coach, because he doesn't tell me what I want to hear, he tells me what I need to hear, he has my best interest at heart...

Once my ego settled down, I reflected more on the feedback and could see the wisdom of his words...

As a result of that feedback, I changed my behavior, I changed how I was doing certain things…
