Mums Pressure Cooker Pot
Yesterday I had a busy schedule yet still managed to find some time to slow down, take a few enjoyable deep breaths, then keep moving into the rest of my day…
While I was taking those few enjoyable deep breaths it took my mind all the way back to my childhood…
It took me back to a specific scene in the kitchen at home many years ago…
Mum was cooking and she had a large pot (pressure cooker) on the hot plate which had a fixed lid on it to keep the pressure in to cook the food…
While I was helping mum in the kitchen, all of a sudden, I hear this loud hissing sound…sssssshhhhhh…😳
I look in the direction of the pressure cooker where the noise was coming from and I can not only hear the hissing sound, I can also see a jet of hot steam shooting out of the top of the pressure cooker which filled the room with a smell of delicious succulent beef and veggies…
I then quickly looked at mum, who said, it’s ok son, it’s normal for the pressure to come out when it reaches a certain temperature…
What will happen if the pressure doesn’t come out, I asked?…
I still remember mums exact words…
It will explode…💥
Listen up…
Our body and mind also need to release pressure so we don’t get a build up and explode all over ourselves, family, friends and work colleagues and tarnish our relationships…
Understand this…
Take a few minutes for yourself throughout the day to ensure you still have pressure to keep moving but not too much that it has an adverse effect on you and your environment…
Here’s the deal…
Self awareness, know your limits, back off before it’s too late, take regular me time breaks, enjoy the journey…
