How To Handle Our Parents As They Grow Older And Are More Fixed In Their Ways?

Well, straight from the get go, understand this one thing, don't expect it to be easy, don't expect it to be a walk in the park....

We love our parents dearly and we respect them a lot, their family....

They have spent the last 60, 70 or 80 years running their life a certain way and are very familiar with that and in most cases want to continue even if there maybe a better way...

Until we are their age we will not fully understand so we need to respect their wishes in many cases....

I was speaking with a mother of 2 young children yesterday and she made the coment that when she was younger, before children, she couldn't understand why parents only have 1 or 2 children...

Now she is in that same position she knows EXACTLY why....

It's the same with our parents, we need to respect their wishes in many cases even if we think we know better....

Yes, I know, it's not easy, it's hard, it's tough and we just want them to wake up and see the light and do it our way....

Have we ever put ourselves in the shoes of our parents and really understand what they are going through as they approach the latter part of their life?...
