Customer Service Behavior With Two Cups…
On the weekend I visited one Japanese restaurant where I like to eat at least once a week…
Staff are good, it’s clean and the food quality is also very consistent…
The atmosphere is peaceful and I can relax and enjoy my meal…
Well, on the weekend there was some interesting behavior from the waitress with 2 cups…
My friend and I were enjoying a meal and we asked for some more water…
The waitress took our cups away from the table and disappeared around the corner…
We looked at each other, didn’t say a word, and carried on talking…
A minute or so later the waitress returned with our cups full of water and put them down in front of us…
Once again we looked at each other. without a word until the waitress disappeared…
We then looked down at the cups and I noticed mine was the one with the mark on the side so we switched cups because my friend was given my cup by the waitress…
Listen up…
This may appear to be a small thing and it is, yet from a behavioural perspective I find it very interesting…
Our smallest behaviors are sending messages to ourselves, the people around us and to the world and they all have meaning, consequences…
